Kristin Davis, a passionate educator and community advocate,
serves as a dedicated board member of Charlotte Court Inc.
Raised in Northern Kentucky, Kristin pursued her love for
education at Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned three
degrees: a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a Master’s in
Reading and Writing, and a Master’s in Teacher Leadership.
Now in her 20th year of teaching at a Title One school in
Lexington, KY, Kristin brings extensive expertise and commitment
to Charlotte Court, where she has been actively involved since
2015. Kristin plays a vital role in Charlotte Court’s operations,
managing programming, overseeing financial records and
bookkeeping, handling registration and billing, and ensuring clear
communication across the organization. She has also served as
the director for Charlotte Court’s afterschool and summer educational and enrichment programs,
furthering her impact on the academic and personal growth of local youth. Kristin’s unwavering
dedication to her students and community shines through her work, making her an essential
force in supporting and empowering those served by Charlotte Court.
Marcus Ford has served as a government contractor in the
Information Technology sector for 15+ years supporting
multiple government agencies in various roles including
Business Analyst, Scrum Master, and Business Consultant and
most recently as a Cyber Security Engineer. Prior to working in
information technology Marcus had a successful stint as an
business to business account executive for 7+ years.
Marcus is a graduate (undergraduate) of both the George
Washington University Columbian College of Arts and
Sciences and Marymount University where he obtained a
Master’s in Business Administration.
Marcus originally from Detroit, MI and currently resides in the
Washington D.C. metropolitan area in Arlington, VA. He is a father of two, Johnathan and
Madison.
Nimbo Hammons, a dedicated board member of Charlotte
Court Inc., was raised in Lexington, KY, before attending The
George Washington University on a full athletic scholarship,
where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Nimbo later
pursued a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of
Kentucky.
As the founder and owner of Charlotte Court, which he
established in 1999, he is deeply committed to giving back to his
community. He is a coach, trainer, and social worker for Fayette
County Public Schools, contributing daily to the operation of
Charlotte Court and leading basketball training and camps. Over
the years, he has organized multiple travel basketball teams,
helping young athletes build skills and character. Nimbo is a
community advocate and a mentor, holding a strong stance on education and behavioral
success in every program offered through Charlotte Court, striving to foster a foundation for
lifelong growth and achievement in all the youth he works with.
Johnathon Davis is a successful entrepreneur with over
30 years experience in the financial services business.
Over the years, he has held many executive leadership
positions in the banking industry. For the past 15 years, he
has been the managing partner and owner of JT Davis
Asset Management.
Johnathon graduated from the University of Kentucky in
1991 where he was a three-year letter winner with the UK
Wildcats basketball team. He graduated with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Business Marketing with an emphasis in
Business Management. He is registered as a Uniform
Investment Advisor with the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Johnathon was the first African American in Fayette County, Kentucky to be licensed as a
commercial lender with loan authority, as well as the first African American to earn the series 65
investment license in Fayette County. He was an initial investor and Chairman of the Board for
Tabiri Analytics, a company dedicated to providing cybersecurity services to businesses of all
sizes. Johnathon has served on various committee and fundraising campaigns at the University
of Kentucky. He is a sworn member of Lexington’s Planning Commission and currently serves
on the Board of Directors of the Bluegrass Care Navigators.
Johnathon is the father of two children, Jackson Davis and Clark Setty, and a very proud
Pop-Pop to his grandboys, Runic and Iren. He enjoys sharing his creative thoughts and ideas
on social media via Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok.
Tonisha Broadus, a passionate and dedicated social worker,
advocate, and leader in the field of child welfare. Tonisha
currently serves as a board member of Charlotte Court Inc.,
where her deep commitment to the safety, well-being, and growth
of children enriches the organization's mission.
Raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Tonisha has spent her career
uplifting and supporting others, particularly youth. She pursued
her passion for service at the University of Kentucky, earning both
a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, with a
specialized certificate in School Social Work. Her professional
journey continued with the completion of the Child Welfare
program at Western Kentucky University; while she worked as a
clinician with Child Protective Services, Department of Community Based Services, in Fayette
County for six years.
Tonisha is currently in her sixth year as a School Counselor with Fayette County Public Schools,
where she also holds several leadership roles within the district. Her work focuses on
empowering students and promoting positive outcomes, and she is an active member of the
Kentucky Association of Professional African American Women in Lexington.
A passionate advocate for underserved populations, Tonisha is deeply committed to her
community. She dedicates much of her time to mentoring youth and providing leadership
support, helping to shape the next generation of leaders. Her extensive experience with youth,
community engagement, and advocacy makes her an invaluable asset to Charlotte Court Inc.
and the children and families we serve.
LaShae Johnson is a dedicated Pathway Specialist at Community
Action. I’ve served for over 11 years in this role, helping empower
families to become self-sufficient by providing resources and
support that help individuals and households achieve stability and
growth. I have a deep commitment to my work and community
because I’ve seen firsthand how essential family support is in
fostering long-term success and well-being.
As the mother of three boys, I understand the importance of
resilience, determination, and community-based support. My
personal experiences as a mother have fueled my passion for
working with families to create pathways for a brighter future.
In addition to my professional work, I became a board member of the Charlotte Court League as
the opportunity to expand an impact and work collaboratively with others throughout the league
to further my ability to support families, create lasting change, and contribute to the strength of
our community.
George A. Brown, Jr, currently serving as the state
representative for the 77th District in Lexington, Kentucky,
brings with him extensive experience and knowledge from
his field of business and management, as well as a
passion for economic development, education, and issues
within the correctional system in the commonwealth.
Rep. Brown is a Lexington native. He attended the original
Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, where he played
football, basketball, and baseball. Graduating in 1966, he
received a football scholarship to Tennessee State
University where he received his Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
He currently serves at the University of Kentucky
Purchasing Division as a Supplier Diversity Business
Enterprise Coordinator.
Rep. Brown served six terms and a total of thirteen years
as a council member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG). He was
first elected to the General Assembly in 2015. He serves on the committees of the
Appropriations and Revenue, Education, Local Government, the Commission on Race &
Access to Opportunity, Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight, as well as the Budget
Review Subcommittees on General Government and Justice, Public Safety and Judiciary.
Rep. Brown has been a primary sponsor and cosponsor of many important house bills such as
the CROWN Act, the “Baby Dre” Act, making Juneteenth a state holiday, and numerous gun
control bills. Additionally, Rep. Brown has also led the fight to pass a constitutional amendment
to officially prohibit slavery as a form of punishment in Kentucky. Rep. Brown has sought to
expand the scope of the expungement process. He is always working hard to expand and
protect the rights of all Kentuckians.
Mike Gardner, a Lexington native and former UK athlete, is a
human optimization mentor, and mobility specialist who helps
athletes of all ages and abilities improve their performance,
quality of movement AND LIFE. By optimizing their internal world
(joint health, strength, and mindset) they can move/feel better,
become more resilient, and tap into their fullest potential for the
adventures they love!
Most people never fully grasp how much their internal
environment shapes the outcomes they create and experience in

Thomas Brown has served as an auditing and business consultant for 20+ years working primarily with government agencies, Fortune 500 defense contractors and healthcare companies. Thomas is passionate about all things real estate, as well as being involved with non-profit organizations providing services and support for at risk youth.
Thomas is a graduate from Howard University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting while participating as a 4-starter on the men’s basketball team. Thomas is originally from Lexington, Ky. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife Sheree and two kids Amaree and Landon.
